RESPONDING TO THE GREAT COMMISSION
Lesson text: Matt. 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-20.
Memory verse: Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matt.28:19. NIV)
INTRODUCTION
The last commandment our Lord Jesus Christ gave to us is to make Him known to the world. May I submit to you that “there is no sense in knowing Christ without letting others to know Him through your character and word proclamation” (Matt.5:17, John 15:16). We will consider “making Him known by witnessing” in this study and by Character in the preceding lessons.
DISCUSSION
What can you observe from the lesson text?
How do you understand witnessing and disciple making? (Matt. 28:19-20, Mark 16:15-20)
What is the urgency of the great commission? (Matt. 24:14)
What are the five-fold task of the soul-winner in soul winning. (Acts 26:17-18)
How do we then carry out the task of witnessing? Personal experiences will be much appreciated. (Act 2:14-41, Act 8:26-40, Act 10:22-48, Act 17:11-34, John 3:1-21).
CONCLUSION
Let me quote from Apostle JFK Mensah (founder of great commission church), “there is no need for one to hear the Gospel twice if another has not heard it once”. This simply means “THE GOSPEL MUST GO”. Are you ready to be like Isaiah and says “Here am I. send me!” (Isaiah 6:8). Having consider the word, the Holy Spirit, let now move to the father. Meet me at study 5.
